Marine life swims near a FAD (fish aggregating device) in the Indian Ocean. A FAD is a floating man-made “fish magnet” used to attract tuna, but also entices a large range of other marine life, such as threatened species of sharks or large numbers of juvenile yellowfin and bigeye tuna. . . . #greenpeace #oceans #colour #photography #instagood #nofilter #Ships #fish #instalike #insta #pictureoftheday #instagram #climatechange #globalwarming #sea #activism #saferplanet #esperanzaship #marinelife #underwater #sustainability #ecofriendly #esperanzaship

Three people, including the Executive Director of Greenpeace New Zealand, Russel Norman, swam in front of a 120-meter oil exploration ship nicknamed ‘The Beast’. Their aim? To stop it seismic blasting for oil. . The activists traveled out to the site on the newly crowdfunded boat ‘Taitu’ and the three swimmers forced the oil ship to cease operations and veer off course. From New Zealand to Norway, activists are putting their bodies on the line to end the age of oil. . Would you have the guts to do this too? . . . #endoil #climateaction #greenpeace #peoplepower #taitu #instalikes #insta #pictureoftheday #nofilter #instgood #instagram #climatechange #globalwarming #sea #activism #protest #oil #saferplanet #greenpeaceships #newzealand #ships #oil #seismic #Pacific

70.000 people took to the streets over the weekend in Hungary’s capital, Budapest, to protest against new laws targeting independent academia and civil society organisations. Our colleagues in Hungary were amidst them, standing up for our right to work freely to protect our planet and in solidarity with our partners across the country. Do you know anyone in Hungary? Hi. I’m @281_AntiNuke and I’m a graphic artist from Japan. For the 6th year anniversary of the Fukushima nuclear disaster, I’ll be taking over the Greenpeace International Instagram feed. . I was born and raised near Fukushima, so it’s an issue that’s close to my heart. Over 15,000 people died and almost 150,000 people were forced to evacuate - it’s painful to think of the impact the disaster has had on families, especially children. That’s why many of my images feature young people, as the aftermath of a nuclear disaster affects them the most. . I wish for all children to be free from nuclear risks.
